Know what is moving
Before migrating the website, we review the existing WordPress installation and the environment around it. That can include the WordPress version, database, themes, plugins, uploads, custom code, caching, forms, email delivery, analytics and external integrations. We also identify services that may not technically live inside WordPress but still depend on the website or domain.
This gives us a clearer picture of what must continue working after the migration and what needs to be tested before the old environment is retired.
The new environment should be ready before production traffic is moved.
We prepare the destination installation, review relevant server configuration and verify that the migrated website can operate correctly in its new environment. Where possible, the website is tested before DNS or production routing changes.
This separates the technical migration from the public switch and gives us an opportunity to identify problems while the existing website remains available.
